January 5, 2010 - Inspiration Trilogy
A few days ago I was so totally psyched about having enough money for me to buy a Samsung Star Wifi without having to swipe my mom's or Porky's credit card. Yesterday, after being awakened in the morning by my mom's sermon galore, I became psyched about having enough money to move out, thus postponing buying Star. Now, what?
About two or three weeks ago, my sister asked me to buy her the WeSC headphones she'll give her boyfriend for Christmas. Since that would mean I would need to go to either Repul1c in Eastwood or Republ1c in Trinoma from Makati, I tried searching for any store around Makati that sells WeSC. But I discovered a new Republ1c-like store just a few blocks away from my office. I learned about Trilogy Boutique, and I have been following them in Twitter.
They Tweet a hell lot! And I mean a lot. Or maybe I'm just not used to too much Twitter home page activity since I've been following just Porky and a few bands who Tweet about once or twice a week. Swerte na yung mag-Tweet sila ng 5 times in a week, except for Porky who's starting to get addicted to it.
Trilogy Tweets a lot but most of their Tweets were links to cool sites like cool stores, cool blogs of designers and artists and a whole bunch of artsy fartsy people. And being the lazy person that I am, I rarely click on these links pero kanina hindi ko alam kung bakit sinipag ako pagtiyagaan basahin, ay mali, i-browse pala yung isang blog site. Black Book Design.
I like the posts there. Inspiring eh.
Hahahah!)
Here's the blog entry that got my attention more than anything else on the blog, The Battle Between Puddles and Rivers. That's the only blog entry there that I read in it's entirety because of this opening lines:
A wise man once told me:
"If you want to be inspired stop staying inside your personal space, stay in a place where you can absorb a lot of things." - Kiko Escora
Ayun. Sapol eh. My creative brain's in super mega hiatus again. Ever since I got hooked to Facebook I had stopped spending countless hours swimming through artworks in DeviantArt. I try to make something like it using my handy-dandy Corel Photopaint 12. Oo. Hahahah!
Anyhoo. Back in those days, may nagagawa pa akong mga artsy shit pero ngayon kahit shit wala.
Haaaay.
Enough. Enough.
Im'ma put a small post-it with that quote above on my monitor so I'll always be reminded that I should stay away from too much Facebook and Plurk and glue my eyes on shit loads of inspirational artworks instead. *fingers-crossed*
