Short interview with A Faded Glory (Italian Hardcore)

1. Hello, Gian. Before we start. Please introduce your band to us.

we are A Faded Glory, 4-piece band based in Cinisello Balsamo and Cusano Milanino, Milano's hinterland duudes.
the line-up is composed by me (gian) the vocalist, Roby as the bassist, Simo the guitarist, and Albi as the drummer. 

2. How did you started as a band and who are involed? Who are you influences?

the band was born in 2003 under the name of "True Insanity" with Simo as the vocalist and guitarist, Albi at the drums and Roby
at the bass, the first line-up didn't include me (i was just 13!) but when i saw them live when i was 14
it was the first underground concert of my life and i never thought that one day i could play with those assholes!ahahha
after some years in 2008 i started playing with simo in another metal band called "Something To Share", and Simo asked
me if i wanted to join in his other band (True Insanity),just because i had really a lot of free time during that summer
i decided to join the band and so we decided to re-start again with a new name and new songs, so, one day in a pub
we decided to re-call the band "A Faded Glory" and passed the summer writing the songs that you can hear on our first ep.
our influnces come from different style of hardcore, from the old school to the new school,  we really love Sick of ii all, more than life,
killing the dream, have heart, verse.. you can listen a piece of these bands in all of our songs!

3. Someone said that you (Gian) are half-Filipino, half-Italian. I guess you and your members know some bands here in the Philippines. Care to name some Filipino bands you love to listen to?

yeah! my mom is from manila!
mmh.. about the O.P.M i really love Nina's voice, even if it's not hardcore!ahahahha
i also know salbakuta(loving "stupid love"..ahahhaa) and slapshock, but about the pinoy hc scene i'm not so much informed, i know isvarah, really
a good band!!


4. How does it feel to live in Italy? Does it have a huge HC-Punk scene? I admire Italians for being so friendly and religious and I'm a little bit interested in your cuisine. (Pizzaholic, hehehe.)

personally, i really love my country!
we got a really big hc-punk scene composed by a lot of good bands as to kill, stop talking!, to the embers.. to
name a few.
and about the religious thing, even if the vatican city is so near to us we are not so religious as you can think! ahahaha
but we are really friendly , that's for sure!
about our cuisine you are right!
even if i prefer turkish cuisine(i am a kebab lover) i still love eating pasta and pizza, if you like pizza you
should try the pizza-kebab, hope you can eat it there in philippines!


5. What's the best show you came up to play with?

i think the one we had at Viganello in Lugano, not so much people but we really had a great time there. i breakdanced during the concert!

6. Any bands you guys love to play with?

we really love to play with all of our friends even if all of them they don't play hc, it's always a pleasure to play
with guys from Through Your Silcence, Destrage, Forgotten Tears, Stop Talking, Traces Of You..we all love these guys

7. How was the release of "The Missing Beginning" EP? WHat if someone's interested in your merchs? How can they get them? Do you include shipping?

the release of the missing beggining is completely DIY, so if you want a copy of our ep just write an e-mail on
afadedglory@hotmail.it, and we give you all the info. and yes we include the shipping. it's 9 euros, same for the
t-shirt but it'll cost you to pay 14 euros, shipping inside europe is much less expensive!

8. If you we're to choose a band to work with in a split-EP. What band will it be?
mmh personally i really don't know what band, there are a lot good hc bands,maybe my favourite hc band..killing the dream! ahahha

9. I can feel your excitement about coming and playing here in the Philippines (and other countries, of course.) In your estimation, when will this be possible?

yeah!if one day i'll play in philippines i will try to get all my families to the concerts!it would be a dream come true for me..aahahahah
i really don't know when this would be possible, we started playing live this march 2009 and we got a lots of work to do
before doing a concert in another continent!
by the way hope as soon as possible!

10. And you've mentioned that you guys are looking for zines to promote your band in the Philippines. This might be your opportunity. Any messages to the zine makes? (They might read this one day.)

of course, like all the bands, we are trying to spread our music as much as possible, and zines are very useful for this
so if anybody is interested in our music, feel free to write something good or bad about us, it's always a pleasure!

11.Thanks for your time, Gian. Any messages to the hardcore-punk kids in the Philippines?

thank you for everything, and also thanks to all the kids that supports us in philippines we really appreciate this
and words can't express how i feel everytime i read all your comments, hope to meet all of you one day!
